Up by seven this morning, kids off to school by 7:45, took quilt out of the tub after soaking all night in OxyClean, hung on J’s clothes line to dry after a spin in the washing machine . . . to the park with C and preschoolers with a “Day in the Park" field trip from 9:30 to noonish . . . a stop at Target for two birthday presents for parties for the boys tomorrow . . .C down for a nap and a quick for lunch for J, K, and me . . .
Off to school to help out with an art lesson on Renoir in K's class at 1:30 (a study of Renoir) . . .back to the house by 3:15 where we were met by a frozen meat salesman who offered a deal we couldn’t refuse (similar to Omaha Steaks) . . . checked on quilt which had dried nicely outside and looks beautiful (that’ll be another blog posting).

Kids in the pool for a nice swim . . .

Basketball games for both boys (with P coaching both teams and J in charge of snacks) at 5 and 6:30 to 7:30 . . .Both teams had improved greatly since our last visit in April, especially C's team.

After cheering through the two basketball games we all, sans P who had to work, went to dinner at Red’s Barbecue for tri-tip and ribs. . . Yummy! . . . home and kids to bed by 9:30 pm. Whew!

Always so good to see pictures of VarnerpartyofFive children!!They always look a bit more mature,K more beautiful, and J& C more handsome. Is that P in one of those basketball pictures?
WOW! Are you ever busy when you visit the grandkids...It sounds like you had fun though...Can't wait to see the quilt!!
Woweee! We sure did have a blast!! A lot going on but lots of fun. I've been down all week with a bad throat infection since Monday eve. I hope you all are healthy. P says I sound just like Kermie the Frog. He actually talks like that back to me when I try to talk. Things are getting better now though.
