Celebrating in Seattle

We winterized Camp Cascadia and hit the road, arriving in Seattle this afternoon. Tonight we celebrated sister-in-law Sandy's birthday with the whole family at Bizzarro's Italian Cafe in Wallingford which has been featured in Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. It was an evening of fabulous food and perfect company.

It was fun to go here because we had seen the Diners Drive-Ins and Dives episode featuring Bizzarro's Italian Cafe located five minutes from our Seattle family.
The Birthday Girl!
Ron, Stephanie, and Samantha
We loved the funky decor!
Samantha was an angel, working hard on her favorite subject in kindergarten . . . "Art!"
Gnocchi — Handmade potato dumplings with crispy seared prosciutto, caramelized leeks in light fresh basil and brown butter sauce
— David's choice
"Sunday night is a special night around here. We get to have juicy meatballs tossed with spaghetti rustica pasta in our world famous marinara—but only if we’ve been good all week."
Ken's choice for the evening!
This is what I chose: Wild Oregon Elk with fennel, thyme, Mama lil’s peppers and pork shoulder slowly simmered into a creamy ragu– tossed with our handmade parpardelle ribbon pasta. I've never eaten elk in my life, and it was delicious.
Tony and his girlfriend, Heidi, joined us for dinner and after dinner we all went back to the house for birthday cake and an evening of playing Taboo . . . a real fun game to play with a group of people.
David was a great sport and took Sam home after birthday cake to put her to bed while we played Taboo.

Life is good!

What a great evening you had, with the delicious food, (made my mouth water) and playing Taboo all during a birthday celebration. Looks like you picked a perfect time to visit! It's fun to see Ron and Sandy and Samantha, all are looking great. Samantha looks like a little angel girl! I love the game Taboo!
