More New Life on the Farm
Cover Girl finally delivered her kids, a boy and a girl, early this morning. Jen was up all night with the goats . . . problems with Destiny's milk production, and Cover Girl in labor. She got the goats settled down, went into the house to get a cat-nap, came back out to the barn and . . . Taaa-Daaaaah . . . Cover Girl's babies had just been born— still wet and gooey . . . but hungry and healthy. When I called at ten o'clock this morning Jen was in the kitchen heating up some of the milk with colostrum from Destiny she had stored in the freezer to bottle feed the newborns. I could hear them crying out, almost as if they were saying "hurry up, pleeeeeeeese!"
This picture was taken within their first hour of life. Congratulations Cover Girl!
The two checking each other out eye to eye . . . The black and white one is the sweet little girl and my granddaughter named her "April" because she thought her mom was playing an April Fools joke on her by telling her the kids were born this morning. The one you can hardly see, is brownish, and his name is "Gunner" (being a son-of-a-gun, with his mother being such a pistol herself).
Now that all the babies are born, maybe things can settle down a bit at Simply Country Farm.
Life is good!

Awww... thanks for posting all the cute pics and details about the kids! They're so sweet as younguns!
Looks like Covergirl did a fine job, what darling goats. It seems like a perfect yard for them with the grass and big rocks.
I love April's colors they seem unusual to me and she also looks prettly furry, so cute they all are, what a joyful event to celebrate Spring.
They are so cute. I love your blog.
