Volunteering at the Ford House

This is the third summer we've stayed with our friends the Thompsons in Mendocino. We volunteer the week we're here at the Ford House where the Thompsons have worked for about eight summers. This year we're making note cards using the Dutch embroidery technique on the front. We've chosen seaside or ocean patterns like lighthouses, boats, fish, etc. We always have fun with the Thompsons and this year another of our friends from Park Sierra, Pat Bennett, is working for four months at the Ford House too, so the five of us have good times and lots of laughs together.

The Ford House, taken from the restaurant we had breakfast in this morning. The Ford House was built in the 1850s by Jerome Ford, one of the founders of the town.

Here's a few of the cards we have made.

And here I am showing off the beginning of one of my favorites. The "shiner" on my face . . . well, that's fodder for another post. It's a long story!

Life is good!

That looks like a fun craft. You always have a nice time at the Ford House huh! I'm glad you are enjoying having good times and laughing together. The eyes are looking a little better. Poor Mommy!
